Buttery Delmonico Steak with Mushrooms, Onions & Garlic

  1. Prepare the butter and garlic
    In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and add fresh garlic. Let it cook briefly to bring out its aroma. 

  2. Season the steak
    Season the steak with salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and a little thyme.

  3. Cook the steak
    Add the steak to the butter and sear on both sides. While cooking, spoon the melted butter over the steak to baste it.

  4. Add the vegetables
    When the steak is almost done, add sliced onions and mushrooms to the skillet. Stir and cook until the vegetables are softened.

  5. Rest and serve
    Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve with the sautéed onions, mushrooms, and garlic on top.
