Real Meat In Your "Backyard"?

What is REAL meat in your "backyard"? Well, if you have been watching some of the latest news headlines you may have seen something like this:
***US to import 300K metric tons of ground beef***
" It seems the goal for this is to drop ground beef prices, but will it stay that way, or what are the consequences?"
You might ask:
- Is it straight beef or does it have fat mixed in? You never know what fillers, or how much fat waste may be added to get the blend they want...
- How long is it in transit before it arrives at the local grocery store? I am sure it has to be weeks with sea travel from other countries! Even just in the US the average travel time for perishables is 5-12 days...
- Is it vaccine free? Chemical free? 100% grass fed? Regenerative practices? Antibiotic free? Growth hormone free? Acid free? These protocols are very important for healthy meats...
Bottom line is, if you want to get all the boxes checked for clean, healthy meat products, do your research!
Today I will cover the protocols we strive for our 100% Grass Fed Beef and Pastured Pork.
We'll start with our core differences that sets our Beef apart:
- 100% Grass Fed
- No Vaccines
- Corn Free
- Soy Free
- GMO Free
- No Citric or lactic Acids
- Chemical Free
- No Growth Hormones or Antibiotics
- Humane Handling
- Regenerative Practices
- Non CAFO (concentrated animal feeding operation)
All these protocols that we are very passionate about truly make a difference when it comes to the eating experience! :) You can taste the difference!

This is a glimpse of our beef cattle. Lush grass and supplemental minerals is the only feed they get. Plus lots of stored hay over the winter... The results? Healthy cattle, regenerating the land!

Below is what "CAFO" (concentrated animal feeding operation), beef looks like. Living on dirt and getting tons of grain dumped in front of them. :( Which cattle do you think enjoy life more, the ones below or above?

Another project we really have been excited about was our new meat processing facility that we launched in June of 2024. It has done very well for us to be able to process and have better control of our own product, creating our own recipes, using organic ingredients, etc... ![]() |
Now for our core differences that sets our Pork apart:
- Pasture/Woodlot Raised
- No Vaccines
- Corn Free
- Soy Free
- GMO Free
- No Citric or lactic Acids
- Chemical Free
- No Growth Hormones or Antibiotics
- Humane Handling
- Regenerative Practices
- Non CAFO (concentrated animal feeding operation)
- No commercial de-wormers
These are protocols that don't just happen, you have to be very intentional about it and our pork farmers are doing a great job! It truly makes a difference when it comes to the eating experience! :)

This is a glimpse of our pigs out on pasture. Lush grass and supplemental feed with minerals makes for the ideal diet. The results? Healthy pigs, regenerating the land while being part of our wonderful eco-system! :)

Below is what "CAFO" (concentrated animal feeding operation), pork looks like. Living in confinement, tons of grain, and no room for exercise. :( Which pigs do you think enjoy life more, the ones below or above?

True Benefits Of Pastured Pork...
Better fat profile: It contains higher levels of heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids and up to three times more than conventional pork, plus a lower, less inflammatory omega-6 to omega-3 ratio.
Higher vitamin and mineral content: It may provide up to three times more vitamin D (from sunlight exposure), more vitamin E, and roughly 74% more selenium (which supports thyroid and immune health) than factory-farmed pork.
Fewer chemical and antibiotic residues: Because outdoor pigs experience less stress and disease than animals in crowded concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs), they typically can be raised without any antibiotics or growth hormones.
Faster cooking time: Pasture-raised meat is often more moist and cooks about 15% to 20% faster because the pigs move around naturally and lack stress-induced adrenaline.

Whether you are on a mission to eat more healthy protein simply for yourself or for the next generations, these are the ideal protocols you want to shop for! Seek it out, ask questions, and be intentional about it, it will reward you in the long run... :)
So to sum it up today... There are plenty of healthy protein options in your backyard or local farms (it should be considered backyard comparable to product that ships for days before it ever reaches you)...
Remember, seek it out, talk to your farmers, ask the hard questions, and be intentional about it! Best of luck to your journey of finding REAL meats...
